Beauty Is All In the Eyes: So Treat Them To A Makeover!

Houston Makeover ProcedureHuman eyes convey emotion and attract attention like no other part of the body. They might not be the first thing that you notice about a person, but it doesn’t take long before your eyes meet… yet some people aren’t happy when that happens. Age, stress, and a busy lifestyle all take their toll on the eye area just as they do on other parts of the body. Everything from your diet to your job and social habits can make your eyes look tired and add to the impression of aging.Luckily, there are a number of possible treatments that can help improve the appearance of your eyes.

Non-Surgical Eye Treatments

At the non-invasive end of the scale of treatments are two kinds of fillers:

  • Restylane –a popular filler made from hyaluronic acid often used to treat crow’s feet.
  • Sculptra – often favored because of its natural results, particularly for use in correcting hollow eyes.

Depending on the expectations and possible results, either of these can be used effectively to reduce the signs of aging around the eyes while also being used as a good filer for other parts of the face. Either can be injected in under an hour, and can even be used together in layers to boost the effect.

In fact, often the most natural result is achieved by using both products as they are complementary, and long lasting. Sculptra is delivered over a period of several months, while Restylane treatments can be completed in a single session in some cases.

Surgical Procedures

The main surgical procedure that is often used for the eye area is called blepharoplasty and it involves removing fat from the upper and lower eyelids. It can be used on its own or in conjunction with facial fillers.Where Restylane and Sculptra can be used on the area around the eyes, only a blepharoplasty can actually correct the eyelids themselves. It’s a delicate procedure but results are often very dramatic. It’s also a procedure that will require several weeks of recovery time, with the stitches being removed after a few days.

With so many options, it’s easy to lose sight (pun intended) of the goal – a natural, youthful appearance – so be sure to explore all options thoroughly with your surgeon.

This process can start with something as simple as emailing a snapshot of your eyes and asking what can be done to improve their appearance. You might be surprised at what we can do! To learn more about treatments for aging eyes, contact Vitenas Cosmetic Surgery of Houston, Texas, at (281) 484-0088.
