The Juvederm injection is a simple in-office procedure that takes less than an hour to complete. To optimize the patient’s comfort, a topical numbing cream or dental block is first administered. A small needle is used to inject the Juvederm directly into the skin. Though some mild redness or swelling may occur in the treatment area, these side effects resolve quickly. Patients are able to immediately return to work and other normal activities, though some prefer to wait until the redness and swelling have subsided. The results of Juvederm may last six to twelve months.
