Q - What is Genesis?
The Laser Genesis is a procedure which can restore the skin’s youthful glow by improving the appearance of scars, large pores, fine lines, and redness on the face, neck, and body. The procedure heats the upper dermis of the skin to stimulate collagen re-growth and produce a smoother, more even tone and texture.

Q - Who is a candidate for Genesis?
Men and women who are looking to improve skin tone and texture may be good candidates for Genesis treatment.

Q - Where is the Genesis procedure performed?
The Genesis procedure is performed in Dr. Vitenas’ office.

Q - Is anesthesia used for the Genesis procedure?
Anesthesia is not necessary for the Genesis procedure.

Q - How is the Genesis procedure performed?
Protective eyewear is first put on and then the laser handpiece is moved back and forth above the skin, gently warming the area.

Q - How long is the procedure time for the Genesis treatment?
The Genesis procedure usually takes less than thirty minutes to complete. An average of four to six treatments spaced one month apart is usually required.

Q - Is the Genesis treatment a painful procedure?
The Genesis procedure is not a painful one. Patients will experience a gentle warming sensation as the laser handpiece is passed over the skin. Patients often find the procedure to be relaxing.

Q - What is the recovery like after the Genesis procedure?
The skin may appear mildly red for about one hour after treatment. Patients are able to return to their normal activities right after treatment.

Q - When will I be able to return to work after my Genesis procedure?
Patients are able to return to work and other normal activities immediately after treatment.

Q - What are the risks or possible complications of the Genesis procedure?
The Genesis procedure is virtually risk free. Protective eyewear is worn during the procedure to protect the eyes.

Q - Is the cost of the Genesis procedure covered by insurance?
While patients should consult with their own insurance carrier, Genesis procedures are generally not covered by insurance when performed for cosmetic reasons alone.

Q - Is it possible to finance my Genesis procedure?
