Houston Mommy Makeover |
The Mommy Makeover is a term which refers to a very powerful set of surgical procedures that enables a woman to regain her youthful size and shape following childbirth. The Mommy Makeover procedure usually involves breast augmentation which may be combined with a breast lift, tummy tuck or body lift, and liposuction.
Good candidates for the Mommy Makeover include women who are in good health, have finished having children and are looking to restore their youthful figure. Dr. Vitenas performs the Mommy Makeover at the Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital of Houston, Texas. The procedure may take anywhere from four to seven hours to complete and is performed with general anesthesia.
The exact nature of the surgery will depend on what specifically is performed, and incisions may be made in multiple areas. In general, excess breast envelope skin is excised and breast implants are placed to increase volume, skin and fat in the abdomen and sometimes the back are removed, and liposuction is performed to shape and re-contour the body.
Full recovery from the Mommy Makeover takes approximately six weeks, though patients are generally able to return to work within one to two weeks. Exercise and other strenuous activities may be resumed within four to six weeks. As with any surgical procedure, swelling, bruising and discomfort may result. The potential risks associated with the Mommy Makeover may include bleeding, infection, asymmetry and scarring.
