Q-What is Radiesse?
Radiesse is an injectable filler able to reshape the facial contours and restore a more youthful appearance. Comprised of a calcium-based gel, this filler creates a scaffolding effect by encouraging and supporting new collagen growth. Radiesse can be used to eliminate dark hollows beneath the eyes, create cheekbones, fill deep creases, and sculpt the jawline.

Q-What is Radiesse made of?
Radiesse is made of tiny smooth calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres that are suspended in an aqueous gel.

Q-Who is a candidate for Radiesse?
Men and women who have experienced a loss of volume in the face or those looking to bring balance to the facial features may be good candidates for Radiesse.

Q-Where is the Radiesse procedure performed?
The Radiesse injection is administered in Dr. Vitenas’ office.

Q-Is anesthesia used for the Radiesse injection?
Local anesthesia and/or a dental block may be used depending on where the Radiesse is placed.

Q-How is the Radiesse procedure performed?
A thin needle is used to inject the Radiesse beneath the skin.

Q-How long is the procedure time for Radiesse?
The Radiesse injection takes less than an hour to complete.

Q-Is Radiesse a painful procedure?
Discomfort tends to be minimal with the Radiesse injection, though local anesthesia and/or a dental block may be used depending on the area being treated.

Q-What is the recovery like after the Radiesse injection?
Some slight redness and mild swelling may occur after the Radiesse injection. These side effects typically resolve quickly. Normal activities can be resumed immediately after treatment.

Q-When will I be able to return to work after my Radiesse injection?
While some patients prefer to wait until the redness and swelling have subsided before returning to work, patients are able to resume work and other normal activities immediately after treatment.

Q-What are the risks or possible complications of Radiesse?
Radiesse is a safe procedure with few risks. Like all injectable procedures, there is always a possibility of bruising and swelling.
