Wrinkles. There are a number of causes, from sun damage and smoking to dehydration, medication and the natural changes in the skin. As it ages, it gets thinner and less elastic.
While wrinkles can be seen as a sign of wisdom, for many people, the appearance of wrinkles are not a welcome change. Many consider a facelift the only way to alleviate the symptoms of the aging process. However, there are alternatives, especially for younger people, whose faces have yet to become seriously affected by the passage of time.
One is the injectable filler. Not to be confused with Botox, which has a different active ingredient and effectively paralyzes the muscles in the affected area, thus softening the wrinkles, fillers are used to add volume and reduce the appearance of wrinkles in that way.
One of the newest, and swiftly becoming one of the most popular, is called Restylane Lyft.
Introducing Restylane Lyft
Restylane Lyft is a FDA-approved injectable filler that can be administered in an office setting with no anesthesia. Its volumizing effects can last up to a year. In under an hour, fairly deep lines, wrinkles and folds can be reduced, restoring a youthful glow to the patient’s face and allowing them to return to work immediately, should they so wish.
Of course, there may be some small swelling and possible bruising — after all, it is delivered by injection — but these side-effects should be minimal. If you are in any doubt, it might be advisable to have the first set of injections on a Friday afternoon, giving you the weekend to recover, if need be.
While it is a relatively pain-free procedure, a local dental block or numbing agent is often used to increase comfort levels.
Restylane Lyft Alternatives
The active ingredient in Restylane Lyft is hyaluronic acid, which is also used in a number of other products such as Juvederm, Radiesse and Restylane, all of which have their perceived strengths and weaknesses. Quite often, however, it is a case of using the right filler in the right facial area.
For example, surgeons often tend to favor Juvederm over Restylane Lyft for treating lips, as it has a better consistency for that area. On the other hand, that same quality means that it might not be as good as Restylane Lyft in treating other facial areas.
In What Area Is Restylane Lyft Most Effective?
Typically, it is used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, treating areas such as the nasolabial folds, and is often chosen over other fillers for patients who have deeper lines and who require a bit of extra support that other fillers can’t provide.
