The Dermal Filler Procedure
The dermal filler procedure is a minimally invasive treatment that involves a few key steps:
Consultation
The process begins with a consultation where Dr. Vitenas assesses your facial features and discusses your aesthetic goals. This information is used to create a personalized treatment plan.
Preparation
On the day of the procedure, a topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area to minimize any discomfort during the injections.
Injection
Dr. Vitenas then carefully injects the chosen dermal filler into the skin using a very fine needle. The exact placement and depth of the injections are crucial for achieving the desired results.
Massage
After the injections, the treated area might be gently massaged to ensure the even distribution of the filler and to smooth any lumps.
Observation
You may be asked to stay in the clinic for a short while after the procedure for observation, to ensure there is no immediate allergic reaction or complications.
Follow-up
A follow-up appointment may be scheduled to assess the results and determine if additional treatments are necessary.
Recovery
The recovery process after dermal filler treatment is typically minimal. Most patients can return to their normal activities immediately after the procedure. However, strenuous physical activity should be avoided for a few days to allow for healing.
Immediately after the procedure, you may experience some redness, minor swelling, and mild bruising at the injection sites. These side effects should subside within a few days. If they persist, it’s important to contact Dr. Vitenas. To help minimize swelling and bruising, you can apply a cold compress to the treatment area for 15 minutes every hour. Also, it’s recommended to avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for 24 hours after the procedure.
