Back Lift Procedure Overview
The back lift procedure is performed under general anesthesia and typically takes about two hours to complete. The exact steps of the procedure can vary depending on whether an upper or lower back lift is being performed. However, the general procedure often involves:
- Administering general anesthesia to ensure the patient’s comfort during the surgery.
- Making an incision in the designated area – for an upper back lift, the incision is made within the confines of the back portion of the bra; for a lower back lift, the incision is made on the back above the buttocks.
- Removing excess skin and fat to create a slimmer, more defined back contour.
- Tightening and repositioning the remaining skin to achieve the desired shape and smoothness.
- Closing the incisions with sutures and applying a compression garment to minimize swelling and support the new contours as the body heals.
