Arm Lift Surgical Steps
The Brachioplasty procedure takes between one to two hours, with additional time needed for recovery from anesthesia. Typically, it’s an outpatient procedure. The standard surgical steps are:
Anesthesia
The arm lift procedure begins with the administration of general anesthesia, ensuring patient comfort throughout the surgery.
Incision
Dr. Vitenas makes a strategic incision on the underside of the upper arm skin, extending from the armpit to the elbow. The length and pattern of the incision depend on the amount of excess skin and the patient’s specific anatomy.
Removal of Excess Skin and Fat
The procedure requires the presence of excess skin due to significant weight loss or natural aging.
Tissue Tightening
The underlying supportive tissue is tightened and reshaped to enhance the contour of the arm.
Closing the Incisions
The incisions are meticulously closed with sutures, ensuring minimal scarring and optimal healing.
