BOTOX for Hyperhidrosis
While BOTOX® Cosmetic is perhaps best known as an anti-aging treatment for forehead wrinkles and frown lines, it does have other uses. When injected into the underarm area, BOTOX can also be used to treat excessive underarm sweating or hyperhidrosis.
Say Goodbye to Excess Sweating
Unfortunately, it’s quite common to discover that sweating comes along with the relatively warm climate that we enjoy so much here in Houston and its neighboring areas of Clear Lake, Friendswood, and Pearland. Of course, it’s quite normal to sweat here and there when the environment gets warm, but some of us may be dealing with a condition known as “hyperhidrosis.”

What Exactly Is BOTOX?
BOTOX Cosmetic—or Botulinum® toxin type A—is a simple, non-surgical treatment that can improve excessive underarm sweating. With just a few quick and easy injections (performed right in our comfortable Houston office setting), you’ll enjoy relief from excessive underarm sweating for six months or longer.
BOTOX is a neurotoxin that is known as a “neuromodulator.” In most cases, it works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that stimulate facial muscles whose use can cause lines and wrinkles over time. When carefully injected into specific sweat glands, however, BOTOX can keep them from producing an excessive amount of sweat.
A Quick and Easy Procedure
Your BOTOX procedure will only take about thirty minutes to complete and does not require anesthesia. During the procedure, very fine-gauged needles will be used to inject small doses of BOTOX into the areas that are producing excessive sweat. BOTOX works to hit the “pause button” on the nerve signals that are stimulating your sweat glands, effectively reducing sweating and improving your quality of life in the process.
No Downtime. No Recovery. Just Results.
There is no downtime or recovery associated with BOTOX injections. You’ll experience some minor bruising at the injection site, which is completely normal and should be able to resume your normal activities just about as soon as you leave our office. Your results will last for approximately six months. When you’re ready to get started and learn more about how this procedure can help you, reach out to our Houston office and set up your consultation today.
