Am I a Good Candidate for Xeomin?

He’ll also help you explore the various treatments he offers—as there are a variety of both surgical and non-surgical options—so you can feel as though you’ve truly been guided to the right option for you.

You’re likely to be a great candidate for the Xeomin treatment if you’re interested in addressing:

  • Fine lines
  • Wrinkles
  • “11” lines
  • Bands
  • Mild sagging or drooping

How Does Xeomin Work?

Xeomin is a product known as a neuromodulator, and it is administered with a very finely gauged needle. In most cases, the treatment only takes between about 15 and 45 minutes to complete, but your specific experience will vary according to the details of your treatment area.

Certain lines and wrinkles on the face are actually caused by the usage of your facial muscles. When you speak, eat, and make certain facial expressions, the muscles that help you perform these actions cause the development of lines and wrinkles in your skin over time.

Xeomin works by pressing the “pause button” on these muscles, interrupting the nerve signals that tell them to move. By carefully targeting the specific muscles that are causing your dynamic wrinkles, Dr. Vitenas can help you enjoy a smoother, more youthful look.

Will I Have Any Recovery Time?

Our patients love Xeomin because it doesn’t come with any kind of extended recovery period or lengthy downtime once the treatment is over. While it’s quite normal to experience some mild redness, bruising, and light sensitivity in the treatment area, many patients are comfortable returning to work and their normal routines as soon as their treatment is over.

We’re committed to your comfort, so we’ll be sure to offer you the option of a topical numbing cream, which can help make the treatment a bit more tolerable, should you find that you’re sensitive to injectable treatments. During your consultation, Dr. Vitenas will explain the treatment to you in detail, and ensure that you know exactly what to expect.

Both are approved to reduce the appearance of frown lines. However, Xeomin is manufactured without the additional proteins found in BOTOX, making it less likely to develop resistance.

The number of necessary units depends on the sites being treated with Xeomin. Treating frown lines requires twenty units per session, which should occur approximately every three months.

While the treatment lasts just a few minutes, Xeomin's results last between three and six months. This is on par with similar injectables, such as BOTOX.

Generally, insurance does not cover Xeomin as it is a cosmetic treatment. However, the Xeomin Patient Savings Program may reimburse you if you enrolledlled.

While you cannot combine Xeomin with BOTOX, you can combine it with the following injectables for the ultimate anti-aging treatment: Juvederm, Restylane, and Sculptra.
