Restoring Your
Youthful Appearance

Aging, weight loss, and genetics can take a serious toll on your neck. In fact, the neck tends to age faster than the face, giving away an individual’s age in spite of their best skincare efforts. With age, the platysmal bands become flaccid, which is a major cause of sagging and is often referred to as a “Turkey Neck”.

Other potential causes include excess fat in the neck, nasolabial jowls that extend to the neck due to laxity, and excess skin. Dr. Vitenas is proud to offer a variety of procedures to revitalize your neck and restore its youthful appearance. If you’re ready to learn more, reach out and set up your consultation at our Houston office today.

NECK LIPOSUCTION

Liposuction sculpts and defines the contour of the neck. Younger patients with elastic skin or those with local deposits of fat are perfect candidates for this cosmetic surgery. The procedure entails removing excess fat to firm the neck. Neck liposuction can be performed in conjunction with other procedures, such as a neck lift or facelift.

CERVICAL LIPECTOMY

A cervical lipectomy removes accumulations of cervical fat in the neck through an incision under the chin. Through this incision fat located both above and below the platysma muscle can be addressed for a more comprehensive neck rejuvenation. This cosmetic surgery procedure can be combined with neck liposuction or platysmaplasty.

SUBMENTOPLASTY

Submentoplasty is a neck tightening procedure that involves removing fat with liposuction and tightening the platysma muscle. The procedure relies on a combination of neck liposuction, cervical lipectomy, and platysmaplasty. It’s perfect for those who are just starting to experience signs of skin laxity.

“I would never consider using any plastic surgeon except Dr. Vitenas. He spends time explaining any procedure in detail. I love the results of his work because you look natural and so much younger. I had a neck lift and face lift almost ten years ago that still looks terrific. I get fillers about once a year on my face. Because I have autoimmune disorders, I can’t get Botox. I have heard that he is the best surgeon for breast implants. I have talked with some of his patients about it, too. He also has excellent online videos about procedures that I recommend watching. Dr. Vitenas will perform no procedure that is not in your best interest. His staff is also fantastic. Ten stars for Dr. Vitenas in my opinion!”

The Neck Lift Procedure

A neck lift, tightens the platysma muscle and skin. Excess skin is removed and the remaining skin is re-draped to provide a taut natural look. The platysma muscle is tightened to improve the appearance of the neck.

Your Recovery Experience

Following a neck rejuvenation procedure, you’ll likely experience some pain, bruising, and swelling. Procedures like neck liposuction, however, can take as little as 30 minutes and don’t entail a long recovery period.

A submentoplasty and neck lift requires general anesthesia and it can take seven to ten days to resume daily activities. Pain medication may be provided to alleviate discomfort. It may be necessary to avoid strenuous activity for up to a month.

When you visit Dr. Vitenas at his Houston office for your consultation, he’ll walk you through exactly what you can expect from your surgical experience, and will give you detailed instructions and a thorough timeline that explains your recovery experience as you get ready to enjoy your impressive results.
