    What Is Restylane?

Created from naturally occurring hyaluronic acid, Restylane is a cutting-edge soft tissue filler, designed especially for filling in deep crevices, fine lines, and facial scars from acne or trauma. The cutting-edge injectable can also successfully restore volume to the lips, cheeks, and delicate areas around the eyes. Approved by the Food and Drug Administration as a safe and effective dermal filler, Restylane has been popular with patients since 1996. Am I a Good Candidate for Restylane?

Potential candidates for Restylane can be both men and women, of all skin types, seeking a soft, natural volume enhancer and tissue support. During your consultation, Dr. Vitenas will get to know your cosmetic goals, help you explore the various treatment options that we provide, and guide you to the selection that is right for you and your lifestyle. The Restylane Treatment

Restylane will be carefully injected beneath the top layer of your skin using a thin needle by expert injector, Dr. Paul Vitenas, while meticulously contouring the features. Although Restylane is not considered painful, patients may note minor discomfort, with a pinch or burning sensation during each injection.

For total patient comfort, a topical numbing cream may be used by Dr. Vitenas prior to the injections. All Restylane injections will be applied in a comfortable treatment room at Vitenas Cosmetic Surgery in Houston. Each Restylane treatment is quick, taking under an hour to complete.

    Your Recovery Period

No downtime is required after a Restylane treatment, so work and school can be resumed the same day. Side effects are mild, but mild swelling and minor bruising can be seen after the injection session. Some patients will choose to wait until the swelling and redness have dissipated, 24 to 48 hours, before returning to work. Because Restylane remains malleable in the tissue for up to seventy-two hours, patients will need to be careful to not vigorously manipulate the treatment area as the filler can be moved.  We recommend avoiding vigorous manipulation of the treatment area at first, as it remains malleable for up to seventy-two hours following the injections.

    Restylane FAQ

Restylane is approved by the FDA as a safe and efficient soft tissue filler. While there are few significant risks from Restylane, mild side effects such as bruising or swelling, and minor areas of redness, can be expected. These are temporary and will quickly resolve. Additional complications, such as headache, flu-like symptoms, nausea, muscle weakness, and pain at the injection site, are rare but can occur.

The results of Restylane typically last six to nine months. At this time, a repeat treatment can be safely performed, extending the results.

Restylane is a dermal filler designed to replenish facial volume and enhance contours in areas like the cheeks, lower face, jawline, and jowls. The cost per syringe ranges between $800 and $900, with most patients requiring at least two syringes to achieve optimal results. The total cost depends on the specific areas treated, and the volume of Restylane required. The precise cost of your treatment will be established during your consultation with Dr. Vitenas.

To make paying for Restylane easier, Vitenas Cosmetic Surgery accepts both cash and all major credit cards. Medical financing through CareCredit and Alpheon Credit is also available. Patients can apply online for immediate approval.
