When to Consider Juvéderm Voluma XC

As we age, fatty tissue and collagen are naturally depleted from the face, ultimately creating the appearance of lax skin and hollow, sunken cheeks. This, in turn, makes the face look frail and tired, as well as adding years to the overall appearance.

The deterioration of facial structure will occur naturally with age, but it can also be triggered by illness, dramatic weight loss, and genetic disposition. When strategically placed in the cheeks, Voluma XC creates a more sculpted and contoured appearance, restoring a healthy and proportionate sense of facial harmony, without any significant downtime or recovery period.

The Day of Your Voluma XC Treatment

Your Juvederm Voluma XC treatment will take between 10 and 20 minutes to complete, and you’ll be able to notice your results almost instantly. Using a tiny needle, Dr. Vitenas will administer the dermal filler according to a treatment plan that he developed with your input. Most patterns follow along the ridge of the cheekbone.

You’ll experience minimal discomfort, and patients generally report feeling a pinch or pressure at the injection site. Lidocaine is mixed with Voluma XC, gently numbing the area with each injection. To increase a patient’s comfort level, Dr. Vitenas also utilizes a topical numbing cream before the treatment begins.

After Your Procedure

Returning to Normal

You’ll be able to return to work or school immediately after receiving your Voluma XC injections. Some people prefer to take the afternoon off to ice the treated area, but most patients feel well enough to resume their normal activities as soon as their injections are complete.

Your Results

The injection site may be red and tender for a few days following your treatment. Mild bruising and swelling may also occur but will resolve over the first one to two weeks. The results from Voluma XC injections can last for up to two years.
